Grand Illusion is well trained with a superior pedigree. Grand Illusion (HOA, AIHR "O")--"Jill" is that rariety that we don't often find in the CS Horse world-- a well trained mare that is at the peak of her abilities at age 11, lots of riding time in all sorts of events, and ready to go right now. She is by the great El Tigre Segundo (Tiger Eye/Tamara Walker), SMR Grande Conquistador, AIHR Hall of Fame, NATRC Sweepstakes winner, and AIHR National Champion Original at Halter and National Performance Champion. Her dam is Mora's Spring Dance, dam of champions Thunderheart, Chamisa Yates, Flashdance, and Bright Dance. Bet you've heard of those great horses if you keep up with the Colonial Spanish horse world. Producing lovely performers is "Spring's" speciality. Spring is an own daughter of Choctaw Sun Dance, was only bred to "Tigger" once--and this is the foal. It would be hard to come up with a more proven pedigree in CS Horses.

Jill was originally purchased from us as a youngster by our good friend Kim Weil to train for resell. Kim did her usual excellent job of training, and then offered her for sale. Jill was purchased by our neighbors and has been there ever since, carrying Tina Graham in drill team, doing team sorting, riding in parades, and even roping cows under granddad Raphael Craft.

Okay, right off--she is about as rat-tailed as they come. So if you want a horse with lots of mane and tail, Jill isn't for you. That said, there isn't much about this super little mare not to like. She is easy to catch and load, and has "been there and done that". She has pedigree second to none and is only for sale because the family haven't ridden her much in the last 2 years. She is opinionated a bit and can take advantage of a non-assertive rider by doing it her way. But other than that, she is safe for any rider. Her gaits and action are a delight, and she'd be fine for a lady or child. She has never been bred--what a cross she'd be on Rowdy's line!

Grand Illusion is priced at $3000. If you are looking for a Colonial Spanish Horse that you can ride and enjoy this spring with the potential to win, don't miss this one. Grand Illusion is a rabicano. The end of her wisp of a white tail matches her spots. Tomlyn shows Jill's balance and action at the lope.

Grand Illusion has a superior smooth and ground-covering trot. Tomlyn swings a large coat from the saddle but Jill is undisturbed.

Princess Blue, a blue Corn Pucinwah daughter Princess Blue (HOA, AIHR "O", SMR)--"Princess" is a lovely dark blue corn mare with a rabicano ("squaw") tail. She was foaled 6/9/97 and is by by Pucinwah SMR #1803 and out of Shady Lady SMR #1434, she by Joshaway out of Sioux McQueen. Bred by Tom and Della Norush, Crooked Fence Acres, Attica, IN, she is a full sister to the Crooked Fence Acres stallion Dancin' Fire. She was trained to ride a few years ago but was sold right after training. She was used primarily as a brood mare at that home and was not ridden at all. When we bought her back, we had to start her right back under saddle. We weaned her 2006 filly "SemiCharmed Life", but wet winter weather kept us off her. We started her back to work this spring and took her out of the round pen on her last two rides. She's doing great and has a very smooth way of going as do most of "Puc's" foals. Her sire and dam are both across the Rainbow Bridge, so this one is one of a kind. "Blue" should be safe for any rider with some experience with horses just started, and she will be easy if you are. A real sweetheart! She has not bucked or done anything scary since we started back riding her. $2000. Princess Blue, a blue Corn Pucinwah daughter, heads down the trail with Cooper.

How about a good buy on "Blue's" 2006 red roan filly, Semi-Charmed Life by Puiji (he by Northern Song whose sire was champion El Tigre Segundo. Northern Song's dam is Kiowa Windsong). $500. See "Charm" below. This is a nice filly, already halter trained, and will be a yearling this spring.

Mockingbird with Desi Halupa up. Mockingbird (HOA, AIHR "O"):2005 dark bay or brown overo appy filly by Born To Run (Broom/Mora's Spring Dance) out of Tiny Dancer (Rowdy Yates/Razorface). Just look at the performers in Mockingbird's pedigree. She is a kind and gentle filly who wants to please and she's just had her fourth ride and is already being ponied out of the round pen. 2 crosses to Choctaw Sun Dance, and she's a Broom grandaughter and a Rowdy Yates grandaughter. What a pedigree for a performer! Nice head, great conformation, interesting color. With all these winning kin, "Bird" should be a special mare able to do it all and produce as well as she is bred. Desi is riding her right now; price includes finishing her green-breaking. $1500.

Mockingbird and Desi Halupa work quietly in the round pen.
