Welcome to our winter of '08-'09 sale.

Just have a look at any list of winning Colonial Spanish horses or Spanish Mustangs and you will find Karma Farms, usually heading the rest. Our horses lead the lifetime points categories on both AIHR and SMR. We'll started participating in the HOA awards program in 2008.

Our horses are our REAL income, not a sideline, and we want your repeat business. We think that even if you buy one of the less expensive horses here, you'll still be proud to be part of the Krewe of Karma. Email and ask if you want different shots or wish to see the full resolution version. I kept these pics fairly small to save download time.

Our winter of '08-'09 sale includes:

FOR THOSE WHO WANT THE VERY BEST

These are some of our very best prospects. No one can say that we won't sell our best when we put horses like these up for sale. We simply don't want to sell any of these listed in this first group. After two sell so that we can cover our winter hay bill, the remaining ones will be taken off the sale pages. So don't wait too long!

Cowboy AngelCowboy Angel: Here's one of the loveliest Northerm type foals we've ever raised. He's is comparable to El Tigre Segundo for balance and athleticism and even sweeter in temperament. Add to that his unique champagne roan color and then look at his pedigree. His sire is Tambourine Man, sire of Rambler, 2007 National High Point NATRC Jr. Horse, now 2nd place Open Lightweight Horse for 2008. "Tam" is also the sire of other good NATRC horses. That superior Choctaw Sun Dance temperament is a trademark of Tam's, too. "Cowboy's" dam is the wonderful Little Corn. He is her very last foal. We test bred Cowboy for 2 late 2009 foals. The first mare was our own Abracadabra (Trail Blazer/Queen of the Silver Dollar by Choctaw Sun Dance), and the second was the pure Sulphur mare Venga la Espéranza. (See below.) So with luck, a buyer could see what he will produce by next year. This one will be super easy to start under saddle. We will be glad to green-break him here for $500 more than our asking price because we want to see that he's started right. $2500.

Illya Kuryakin and Cowboy Angel

Illya KuryakinIllya Kuryakin: Okay, I said I wasn't going to sell this one so this may be your only chance. I surely won't sell him cheaply! He's the ONLY stallion son of Magneto (Broom/Espéranza). Anyone who studies Colonial Spanish bloodlines knows these great champion producers, both with several champion offspring. Jennifer Maddox and Magneto at Cass County CTRSince Magneto just won First Place Horse in the nation in the Open Junior division of NATRC for 2008, that certainly won't hurt "Illya's" value. Magneto is winning in show, games and of course, CTR and adding to Espéranza's unequaled production record for winning offpsring in SMR and AIHR. Illya's dam is Dancing Dove by the great Choctaw Sun Dance out of Morning Dove (she is named Paloma Manana in SMR), she by Tiger Eye out of Ysabella. Wonderful foundation CS bloodlines here in a two year old colt ready to start under saddle next spring. He looks as if he'll have his sire fabulous mane if he ever quits grazing through the fence. His tail is already nearly on the ground. The lovely dark-eyed cream colored colt can give buckskins, palominos and isabellas out of those plain bay and sorrel mares, but don't plan to breed him to dilute horses unless you want whites. He carries two copies of the dilute gene. His movement is wonderful with that swinging Choctaw Sun Dance stride. This one NEEDS to be someone's stallion and if he doesn't sell first, he'll stay at Karma Farms. We will be glad to green-break Illya here for $500. $2500.

Rhythm of My HeartRhythm of My Heart: Ever looked up which CS Horse has more lifetime awards points than any other? It's none other than Fernando (Choctaw Sun Dance/Margerita, she by Broom out of Pie). Now you can own the closest thing to "Ferdie" that can be produced today. "Rhythm" is by Locomotion (Choctaw Sun Dance/Easter Lilly) and out of Margerita, so he's a 3/4 brother to "Ferdie". He will be a small one and is built so much like Ferdie that if we couldn't see color, they would be hard to tell apart. And so sweet and loving! If you have need for a kid horse deluxe or a baby sitter for a smaller rider, Rhythm will make as good a little horse as can be found. He is refined and beautiful, wise, speedy, sound, and really precious in temperament, a natural "people horse". We want to keep this one for our own dude string but will give our friends one shot at him. Look well, Mustangers! $2500. Rhythm of My Heart

Rhythm of My Heart

Rowdy Romance, a full sister to Meet Virginia.Rowdy Romance: My darling "Ro" is a full sister to Tommi's dun champion Meet Virginia, 2008 National Champion Aged Original Mare at Halter, and winner of Southeast Regional and National Combined Point Show Buckle. She was AIHR Overall National Champion in 2007. But where "Virgie" is a golden dun, "Ro" took her daddy's color and is a classic grulla. "Ro" is sired by Rowdy Yates (naturally) and is out of the 100% Cap Yates bred mare Buck's Girl, herself a winner of numerous awards in AIHR and NATRC. I don't think I have to spew accolades on this one. She won't be for sale once the winter hay is paid for, you can be sure. "Ro" will be 3 in the spring and is ready to start under saddle. She's gentle and loving and VERY quiet natured for a Rowdy girl. Loves to be brushed and have her mane combed. $2500.

BEST BUYS:

Semi-Charmed Life--a lovely 2007 red roan overo filly by Puiji, he by Northern Song (El Tigre Segundo/Kiowa Windson) out of Swinging Lady (Locomotion/Swinging J's Red Streak). Her dam is Princess Blue, she by Pucinwah out of Shady Lady. You can see her dam on our Ready to Ride page. There's some superior blood in this nice filly. She's just less expensive as she's 1 or 2 generations away from known performers and producers like Northern Song and his well known sire, El Tigre Segundo; Locomotion, champion sire by Choctaw Sun Dance) and beloved Crooked Fence sire Pucinwah. Sweet and trainable personality, halters, ties. $500

Vik pets Zep after his 1st saddling.Led Zeppellin--2005 grey gelding by Doctor Wu (Chato's Shadow/Espéranza) out of Stairway to Heaven (Locomotion/Wild Heaven). Looks, action, longer mane type, goes to so many proven performers, so he should make a real performing horse. His dam Stairway to Heaven
has done great in her begining show career for owners Ed and Crystal Yousey in SC who show in the Foothills Indian Horse Club. "Stairway" is ridden by Cortnie Yousey, a great teenage competitor. If you are looking for one to start this year to do distance or any athletic pursuit, this guy would be a good choice. We just started working with "Zep". Pictured with Vik above at his first saddling. $750 or $1250 under saddle.

Venga la Espéranza, August 16, 2008Venga la Espéranza--2005 red dun pure Sulphur filly by Rancho de Corazon's dun Sulphur stallion Soldado del Perro, the only Sulphur bred stallion in Texas. Her dam is La Tierra Roja, also domestically bred, she by Sampson out of Strawberry, both from the Sulphur Springs Herd Management Area. This filly was born at Rancho de Corazon and is coming along nicely. Lots of stripes and those lovely Sulphur hooked ears. Her motion is very nice and her look is classic Sulfur. That's why we named her after old "Hope". Here's your chance for a Sulphur in Texas. We put her in with our young champagne roan stallion Cowboy Angel (Tambourine Man/Little Corn) in July for a late foal while we had her up. She does show to be in foal. Have a look at "Cowboy" above, and you'll have some idea how nice this foal could be. $1000.

RocketmanRocketman--2005 grey gelding by Crooked Fence Acres' Yellow Thunder out of Razorface (Choctaw Sun Dance/Wild Blue Yonder). Very gentle and sweet, a "pocket pony" that loves people and is ready to start. $750 or $1250 under saddle.

We have a wonderful 2008 foal crop that you can see at 2008 Foal Page including several colts by Rowdy Yates of stallion quality. These include: Red-headed Stranger, loud red dun roan (may app) out of Maggie Mae (Dance Magic/Maggie), Jack Sparrow, grulla appaloosa colt out of Ilo's Bonita Shaquita (Desert Wind/Ilo's Phantom Rose), a 7/8's Belsky mare, and Accelerate, curly red dun roan colt out of Red Fern (El Valiente/Vendo Majico). Let us know if you'd like a top quality stallion prospect by America's best known Colonial Spanish stallion with mare lines second to none. We know money is tight right now, but it's winter hay buying time so we need to sell horses. We'll make deals right now that we don't offer any other time of the year. Buy these boys right off their dam's side and save big! We will halter break and train to trailer before you pick up your colt.

Hope you found something you like.
Sincerely,
Vickie Ives
