About the Karma Kats

At Karma Farms, our real business is Colonial Spanish Horses. Check out the Karma Farms homepage. When my cat friends call, they are surprised not to be speaking to a cattery. Folks, we are a working horse farm, and our world famous big-footed cats are mostly "working polys" . We don't have to resort to poisons or traps to handle rodent control. Feeding 20-30 sacks of horse feed a week would make our tack room and barns mouse heaven except for our feline pals.

Our kittens are NOT raised in cages; they grow up under foot in our farm house and some stay to work rodent patrol. Most of our kittens are born inside and all the kittens come in for handling, deworming, weaning, shots, litter pan training, etc. They get lots of hands-on TLC. Our clients are often surprised at how sweet and affectionate their Karma Kat is. We have bred them for people oriented temperaments since 1981, and handle each kitten we offer you. Please email if you would like to be put on our waiting list. We can't promise that we'll get pictures up here before they sell. A $50 deposit will hold your kitten until it is old enough to go home. Thanks for your interest in America's best known polys--the Karma Kats.

SHIPPING

Our prices do NOT include shipping costs. These are the buyer's responsibility. Most flights are averaging about $200, but you can get exact cost by calling the 800 number of your preferred Air Freight carrier and get cost from Shreveport, Louisiana to you. We have had great luck with American and Delta Dash service. Cost of shipping crate, vet health exam and health certificate and delivery of cats to Shreveport Airport is the buyer's. We charge $50 extra to deliver a kitten to the airpost as it is a round trip of 80+ miles for us. We welcome visitors who wish to pick up their cats here at the farm! In fact, we offer $25 discounts on kittens picked up at the farm. Come visit the Karma Kats by appointment, please.

Added 1/20/2008: "I have an abundance of unique poly bobs, most not available for sale but if you e-mail I can send pictures of them for examples of future kittens. Right now I only have three available but come this spring they will be abundant. The one poly bob I have is a small tailless long haired orange female with 6 toes on each front paw. I have a poly with a long tail who is a tortoiseshell with a gray base. Then I have a bob with a corkscrewed tail who is the same color as the poly. I also have some normal but gorgeous kittens as well. The kittens I have range from completly normal to being poly, bobbed or both. I have had kittens with extra toes on front and back paws. As far as tails go, they can be anywhere from middle lenth to short, very short, or tailless. They also have kinks in their tail due to some Jap. bobtail heritage (not saying all kinky tail cats do, but I'm positive of their heritage) and some times their tails curl or spiral. They come in short and long coats with a great array of colors. They can be orange, orange and white, gray, gray and white, tortoiseshell, calico, etc. (usually look somewhat like Jap. bobtails for example of coat color) As for price, it varies but i'll never ask for higher than $70. Usually it's in the $50 range, this is because I am simply trying to find them good homes. The money is used to offset costs and it also goes to getting the permanent residents fixed. They will have had shots, be litter trained, and socially friendly to other cats, dogs, and all people including children. The males are usually laid back with very little prey drive (Thank goodness for my escape artist hamster), however the females have a high prey drive and tend to be a little more highstrung. Please e-mail anytime for pics or extra info if your interested. Lashleydunc11@aol.com or if neccesary 704-254-1941 and ask for Ashley."
