Tambourine Man (AIHR O-1265, SSMA #990, HOA 1144) is a 20 year old amber champagne stallion foaled 4/24/89 by Choctaw Sun Dance out of the SSMA foundation mare Kiowa Morning Song where he got his champagne color. "Tam" was added to our stallion roster in the summer of 2001 from the Blazing Saddles Ranch dispersal sale, returning to the ranch where he was bred.

Tam is a high percent Choctaw with Choctaw on both sides of his pedigree plus 25% Huasteca from his famous sire Choctaw Sun Dance. He is a full brother to Wildstar Ranch's well-known gaited sabino appy stallion No Myth and Rockin' B's great gaited chestnut tobiano mare White-winged Dove. He is large for a Colonial Spanish horse, near 15 hands. He is a laterally gaited amber champagne overo and will add color, gait and size plus his sire's reknown temperament when bred to your good mare. He has one amber eye and one parti-colored eye and a proud, quiet presence that he passes on to his foals.

Tam was trained to ride at Blazing Saddles and won his first Green Pleasure Class at a Tejas Indian Horse Show. Then his right foreleg was injured in a castastrophic accident, and he spent the next few years recovering. While at Blazing Saddles, he sired a number of nice horses, but his production record did not come to us with the stallion when we bought him back. If you own a Tambourine Man foal, we'd love to hear about it! He has sired both paints and champagnes.
Karma Farms champion mare Willow Dance foaled a near leopard champagne appaloosa colt to Tam during Hurricane Ike last fall so he was duly christened "Like A Hurricane", nicknamed "Ike". Ike is highly spotted and paso-gaited. We'll get pictures up as soon as he sheds out. Our great old HOA bred champion producing mare Dainty Bess (Broom/Pie) foaled a champagne stallion ("Champagne Supernova") to his services in March of 2009.
Unbelievably, Tam is now sound for light work (even though a close inspection will reveal how badly his leg and knee were injured).
His foals include Rambler, NATRC National Champion in 2007 and 2008, winning first place in the nation in Open Jumior in 2007 and second place in 2008 in Open Lightweight. Rambler is ably ridden by Jenna Galliher of Mustang Meadows. Tam's son Gustavo Moon owned by Jenna's dad Gregg Galliher is just begining his career as a top trail horse. "Gus" just won Novice Sweepstakes at the Oklahoma Land Run CTR in Stillwater, OK.
Mare care available. (903) 935-9980 or (903) 938-2908. Stallion fee for 2009: $400.
