Ready To Ride:
Sangria Wine
11/18/2009: This stout flazen sorrrel 6 year old gelding is from Blazing Saddles Ranch stock. "Sangria" was bred from a group (3 stallions, 12 mares) from the dispersal of Blazing Saddles Ranch.
The buyer of Sangria's group never even picked up the registration papers from Blazing Saddles Ranch manager Mac McSwain, so no known pedigree. He IS pure CS because Blazing Saddles Ranch had no other kind of horses. It is likely that his sire was Rattlesnake,
but who is his dam was is anyone's guess.
Our friend Jeff Rogers started Sangria in early summer but only got to work him a few times before hay season started and he got too busy to ride.

"Sangria" has been ridden by Jerry Hilligoss since 11/15, 2009 and has moved from working in the the round pen to the open pasture. This guy is athletic and has a quick response time, so even though he is coming along very nicely under saddle, he might get out from under someone with an insecure seat. That said, this is a great buy on a horse old enough to start campaigning right now. He has color, substantial bone and good hooves, excellent wind and no blemishes. And both Jeff and Jerry are 6 foot+--this isn't as small a horse as he looks in these shots. $1200.
